We started our adoption from China in October 2005 with Kentucky Adoption Services. We have found working with Kentucky Adoption Services to be a wonderful experience. We have found in the process of adopting that Kentucky Adoption Services has kept us well informed every step of the way. We have enjoyed working with Lucy Armistead, and the whole KAS team. We can't thank KAS enough for all they have done for are family, and truly what a pleasure it has been working with Kentucky Adoption Services.

My husband and I have wanted children for many years.  When we found out that we were not able we were unsure of which way to turn.  We were referred to (KAS) Kentucky Adoption Services for our Home study, and made the decision that this was the Agency for us.

We met with Lydia for our home study, and were so much at ease.  Lydia immediately started the home study.  She was very informative, and walked us through each process with helpful literature, and answered our concerning questions.  Lydia made this process so comfortable for us.  She made wonderful suggestions, and really prepared us for becoming first time parents.  She taught us so much about bonding, which we felt was very helpful.  Our home study was professional, efficient and very informative.

Our next step was working directly with KAS.  We met with Lucy regarding the adoption process.  Lucy was so easy to talk to.  She shared so much information with us that we really felt confident with her and this agency.  Lucy will help you understand the different countries and options of adoptions.  This really helps a family if you are unsure about where to adopt your child from, or even if adoption is for you.  In our opinion Lucy is "TOPS" when it comes to adoption.  Lucy is highly educated and is involved with all the countries that she supports.  She is not just "paper friendly", but she is hands on.  She is always striving to take her education and involvement to the next level.  Lucy always kept us up to date with any new information that she received, and involved us with everything.  Whenever we finish talking with Lucy about adoption we feel like a breath of fresh air.  She is so full of life, and we can really tell she cares about all her families and these children.  She strives to find these children a loving and nurturing home, and she won't stop until she does.

KAS has a wonderful and competent staff.  We have had the pleasure of communicating on a regular basis with Jayne.  She gathers the information from each call and forwards them to the appropriate person along with many other tasks.  She is a delightful lady that always has a smile on her face and goes that extra mile.  In communicating with Jayne she immediately showed us extreme organized, efficient and compassionate skills.  The staff at KAS goes above and beyond with their excellent communication skills with keeping us informed and at ease throughout the entire process, so no matter who you deal with at KAS through your adoption process you are in good hands.

Our adoption process is now complete and we have adopted a beautiful, healthy baby boy name Bryson.  He is from Guatemala, and we love learning and sharing all about his country.  He is the sweetest and happiest baby.  He has brought us so much love, laughter and joy.  Due to the wonderful experience that we went through with the arrival of our son, and all the hard and dedicated work from KAS we are pleased to say that we are presently waiting for the arrival of our daughter, Ashlyn, also from Guatemala.

Everyone at KAS goes out of their way to make each family feel special, and we highly recommend Kentucky Adoption Services to anyone interested in adoption.  They truly take this experience and make it a dream come true! Thank you KAS!

First of all KAS is AWESOME, we have had nothing but a wonderful experiences with them in the past year. They are only a phone call or a few keystrokes away on the computer.  I eMail them all the time with questions. They always get back with me in a timely manner.

They are always willing to bend over backwards to help us.  They make you feel like you are not just another family. They treat everyone as "Special" and you immediately know important you are to them. They are also very in tune with how scary and long an adoption process can be. 

It seems like they know just what you need to hear sometimes, rest assured they are there for you :)

We hope to bring our little girl home in the next few months, we are currently in PGN in Guatemala. Her American name will be Grace Elizabeth.

Matt and I started on the process of adopting our little one after going through many failed attempts with infertility. We choose KAS after much prayer and discussion and turned in our preliminary application in November of 2005. There were many reasons that KAS stood out to us. From their prompt delivery of their information packet to the friendliness on the phone and not to mention their client comments like this one. They made me feel at home.  We were not just another case number or just a file on their desk. We were a family with a strong desire for a child. God was leading us in this direction.

We knew it was right from the start. Not only were they informational and helped us through each step of the process, check in on us from time to time. Lydia was our home study coordinator and still about once a month will eMail us to see how we are doing. Every single staff person helps you in some way. If we had a question, they helped to answer it. And it wasn't a week from when I called or emailed it was usually within hours and no longer than a day. And even now as we wait to bring our little one home, they are there to support us like "family". To me KAS is a small family. We are a diverse family but we stick together and care for one another. They don't leave you out in the cold, desperate and lonely. They comfort you, give you strength and care about what is happening to you.

We could never imagine using any other agency. Our 1st child is not even in our arms yet and we know that we will use KAS again in the future.

We are eagerly awaiting the referral of our little one from China.  We are thankful that God led us to KAS.  We started out with using KAS as our home study agency, but felt so comfortable with the staff that we decided to use them for our international placement as well.  Kiesha and Lucy and the rest of the staff at KAS have been very knowledgeable and a great source of encouragement to us.  I've also benefited from joining KAS' yahoo group, where we support each other during the wait - and when someone on the board gets a referral or travel approval, we all rejoice!  :-)

We worked with KAS in March of 2004 to adopt our daughter from China.  We loved the personal relationship that we built with them threw that year.  KY. Adoption services was very easy to work with during a special journey our child.  There was always someone to answer questions and offer support when needed.   We felt like we were the only family they were working with at the time.  When truly they just made us feel that way.  It showed us that this is not just a business for them.  They truly care about children getting families.

We also see that KAS wishes to offer the best services possible.  After returning from China we met with them.  They wanted to hear ways that they could improve the program.  Ways the process would be easier on families in the waiting stages.  They feel that the best way to do this is hearing from the families who have been through it.  In all it shows that they wish to do the will of God.  And to do it for HIS glory not the glory of KAS.  

We are very thankful for having Ky. Adoption services during a special process in our life.  We hope that many people will use the services they offer.  We pray that the Lord will bring many children home threw the work of Ky. Adoption services.

When my husband and I decided to start the adoption process, Lucy was our caseworker. At first, the process looked daunting, but Lucy instantly made us feel comfortable. Her knowledge of adoption laws and the procedures for completing the paperwork made the process simpler. Lucy was always willing to answer questions and calm our nerves during such an exciting time. We were very pleased with the speed in which she completed our homestudy. After our son arrived she remained interested in how we adjusted, as well as completing our post placement report on time. We are currently waiting on the referral of our baby from China. KAS did an excellent job with our homestudy & dossier. We went from the homestudy & paperchase to being logged in in China in only 3 months. Other agencies had told me that the homestudy alone could take this long. KAS staff has been friendly & supportive. Request for info have been handled promptly. We can recommend KAS without hesitation.

We are absolutely recommending Kentucky Adoption Services to anyone we know that is even remotely interested in adoption. We are overjoyed at the treatment we received while working with this agency. After two years of trying to narrow down a list of prospective agencies I met Lucy at an adoption fair. Within 5 months we had made the initial application, had our homestudy and were on our way to being parents. The speed, ease and efficiancy with which our homestudy was handled and the constant communication with the agency placed us at ease that we had made the right decision. We, as most adopting parents, were concerned over our ability to afford adoption. We found KAS fees to be VERY reasonable. Lucy and her team are very good at what they do and they know their stuff! I am proud to say that only 10 short months after becoming "official" with KAS we were the proud parnets to a healthy, newborn baby girl - McKenna. She is the light of our lives and we cannot thank Kentucky Adoption Services enough for this priceless gift.

I am writing this reference on behalf of myself and my wife, Karen. We began our homestudy with Kentucky Adoption Services in November of 2003. Their staff from the very beginning was very professional and easy to work with. Throughout the adoption process they kept us up to date on where our case was and what was happening. At times we would get anxious and call and ask for more information and they would always do their best to help us when they could. Their are times within any adoption process that you must just wait as the agency has no control over how fast the paperwork is processed. We truly believe God sent us to this Christian agency and began to work through their staff to find us our new baby girl from Guatemala. We just returned home with AnaKaye from Guatemala on July 17. Thanks to our agency, our experience in Guatemala was very pleasant. Our attorney and his assistant there were very professional and made it very easy for us. I would recommend Kentucky Adoption Services to anyone looking to adopt a child.

My husband and I have been working with Lucy and Lydia at Kentucky Adoption Services since March 2003. We decided to use them as our adoption agency after a long conversation with the director Lucy Armistead. We immediately felt at ease and thought that this was the agency that god meant us to use to find our little angel.

After helping us complete all our forms, Lucy sent Lydia to our home to complete our homestudy. As expected, we were very nervous about this visit, but Lucy and Lydia both put our minds at ease and explained the process very well.

After we were approved, it was a waiting game. Lucy encouraged us to send out our profiles to other agencies such as Bethany Christian Services so that we would increase our chances of being matched with our special little one as quickly as possible.

In January 2004, the call came. We had been chosen by an agency out of Florida and were matched with a beautiful baby girl. My husband Andy and I were so excited we could hardly contain our joy. It was so amazing to hear the excitement in Lucy and Lydia's voices as well. Even though we did not receive a direct placement through them, they were so thrilled for our family.

Kentucky Adoption Services worked with the agency in Florida to make sure that our ICPC paperwork went as smoothly and quickly as possible. We had heard horror stories from families that had adopted out of state about how long the process could take, but we were very pleased with our service. We were only in Florida for about a week and then got the call to come home to Kentucky.

Once we were home and settled, Lydia came and did our post placement visit. Afterwards the agency submitted our final court report and the adoption was finalized on May 7, 2004.

Andy and I would recommend this agency to ANYONE looking for a placement agency. We had a very positive experience with them and will definitely use them again in the future.

My family used the services of Kentucky Adoptions for our homestudy agency for the adoption of our daughter. We chose to use Kentucky Adoptions for two reasons. First, after meeting Lucy in person, we realized that she was very knowledgeable about the adoption process. Second, we just knew the agency was right for us.

Our interviews and home visit were set up in a timely manner and were scheduled around us. There were no "hidden" fees with KY Adoptions. All fees were correct and followed the fee schedule that was given to us. Lucy and our caseworker, Lydia, stayed in contact with us while we were preparing our dossier and after our dossier went to China. In addition, we didn't feel like a number with KY Adoptions.

We were extremely pleased with the professional, yet personable service we received at KY Adoptions. We would recommend KY Adoptions as a homestudy agency.

After facing years of infertility my husband and I turned to KAS for help with our adoption. There are really no words that can express the kindness we received. After dealing with the service I feel like they are almost family! You get such fast feedback from them that I almost couldn't believe it. Every call was answered or returned right away. We definitely never felt like we were just a number with them. That is one reason why we chose not to go with a much larger agency. We didn't want them to have to look up a file when we called; we wanted them to know who we were when we called! Every worker there shared in our joy every time we called. One other thing that impressed me so much was the speed in scheduling our interviews. That can really make you feel like you are at a stand still when you are waiting for an agency to "fit" you in. We were scheduled in such a timely manner it was unreal. Now we have our beautiful daughter from Korea and couldn't be happier!

We have used KAS for both of our homestudies for adoption from Guatemala. They came highly recommended and I have recommended them to several people. Lucy and Lydia were great. They completed both homestudies very quickly. They really went out of their way to do a great job and went the extra mile to help with the little things that inevitably came up. Lucy is very knowledgable about adoption issues and that really comes in handy to point you in the right direction. She also has a good relationship with INS/CIS/BCIS which really helps processing everything for approval. I HIGHLY recommend KAS!
