General Adoptive Parent Requirements for Haitian Adoptions
Families interested in adopting from Haiti must meet the following criteria:
- All parents must be age 35 or older
- Couples must have been married and/or cohabitating for a minimum of 10 years
- No more than three biological children living in the home
- Single women are welcome
- Families of all faiths are welcome
All parents must travel to Haiti at least once to appear before a Justice of the Peace. Additional travel may be recommended based upon the child's best interests. |
