What Does it Cost to Adopt from Haiti?Please note that fees paid to entities other than Kentucky Adoption Services are subject to change without notice. Kentucky Adoption Services, Inc. Agency Fees $5,650.00
Home Study and Post Placement Fees: $1,200.00-$3,000.00Home study fees are determined by the agency you choose and are paid directly to that provider. KAS can provide home study services to families across Kentucky. KAS charges $1,550.00 Home Study fee, along with $200 per post-placement. Please call or eMail us to request a Guide to Services, which will provide more detailed information about the services and fees for KAS. Post-Placement/Post-Adoption Monitoring Fees $1,000.00This fee is paid to KAS at the time of Dossier Submission and is to cover post-placement/post-adoption monitoring, shipping of reports after the adoption and any translations of reports after the adoption if needed. Adoption Education: $100.00This fee is paid to Adoption Education LLC, as 10 hours of education are required. Dossier Translation & Legalization Expenses: $700.00 - $1150.00Family will pay for actual authentication expenses. KAS will collect and wire translations fees to translator. Families are not billed for shipping of documents. USCIS Fees & Fingerprinting: $670.00 Form FeeUS Citizenship and Immigration Services charges $670 to process the I-600A. This check is made payable to USCIS and sent with the I-600A application. Please note: USCIS charges an additional $670.00 for each additional unrelated child. This is payable to the US Embassy in Haiti. Fingerprinting Per Person: $80.00Citizenship and Immigration Services charges $80 per person for fingerprinting. This check is made payable to USCIS and sent with the I-600A application. International Fees: $9,500 - $12,000+
The International fees cover the costs of processing your adoption in Haiti. After 10 months, you will be billed for childcare monthly at a rate of $300 to $550 per month. Please note: No part of this fee is refundable! Visa Costs: $400.00 per childPayable at the US Consulate at the child's Visa appointment. DNA Testing Fee: $350.00-$500.00On occasion the US Embassy in Haiti requires DNA testing. This fee is payable via credit card directly to the lab. This fee includes collecting the samples and shipping the samples to the US for processing and sending the notarized results to KAS, the US Embassy, as well as to the adoptive family. Miscellaneous Expenses: VariableWe advise families to include an additional $500 minimum toward miscellaneous and unexpected expenses when planning for any adoption. Each family will need to plan on travelling to Haiti at least once. All fees are subject to change and any fees not paid to KAS are not under the control or discretion of KAS. On occasion KAS may be able to offer a slight fee reduction based on a child's special needs and a family's financial situation. KAS contributes a small portion of the fees collected for Home Studies and for Agency Placement Fees to humanitarian aid. KAS donates significantly to humanitarian aid through a ministry in El Salvador, to orphanages and ministries in Guatemala, to an orphanage in China, to orphanages and ministries in Haiti, and various projects worldwide. |
