          • Home Investigation The Independent Home Investigation report includes in-depth information about the adoptive parents, birthparents, and adoptive child's autobiographical information and motivation towards adoption.
          • Home Study A Home Study basically consists of a series of appointments with an adoption professional.
          • Post Reports
        • Birth Parent Offering free personal counseling, assistance and education for birth parent. Assistance may include help with obtaining medical care, transportation and other essentials.
        • KAS Adoption Fees Breakdown of the home study, domestic adoption, and Korea network fees for adoption services through Kentucky Adoption Services.
      • Domestic Adoption Domestic adoption services for families wishing to adopt a child born within the United States. Program is only open to Kentucky families who have utilized our home study services.
        • Domestic Program Adoption child-placing services for infants born within the United States and voluntarily relinquished for adoption by his or her birthparents.
          • Homestudy Process Anytime a family pursues an adoption, with the exception of certain family adoptions, a homestudy is required by law. KAS is a licensed, non-profit child-placing agency, providing homestudy services to Kentucky families.
          • Independent Home Investigation Adoptive placement without the introduction and services of an adoption agency. The Independent Home Investigation report includes in-depth information about the adoptive parents, birthparents, and adoptive child's autobiographical information.
          • Domestic Network Networking relationships with reputable child-placing agencies to help place children born throughout the United States. Applicants employ the home study services of Kentucky Adoption Services, Inc. while utilizing the placing services of another agency.
      • International Adoption Child-placing services to families adopting from Guatemala and China, and providing humanitarian aid to children for which adoption is currently not possible.
        • China Program Children adopted from China range in age from infants to twelve years of age. Twins rarely available. Most children are healthy, some may have medical conditions. Many have developmental delays, families have received referrals of healthy children.
          • China Costs KAS is committed to keeping adoption fees as low as possible, and you will find our fees among the lowest in the nation. Outline and explanation of cost for China adoptions.
          • China Process Child placement services in the Peoples Republic of China. Open to families living throughout the U.S. Infants typically arrive home between 8-14 months old. Adoption process usually takes 8-10 months after registration with the Chinese government.
          • China Requirements To be eligible for adoption from China, both parents must be at least 30 years of age and prospective parents should be married for at least one year. China also accepts single applicants.
          • Lucy Visits China A. Lucy Armistead, Founder and Executive Director of Kentucky Adoption Services, Inc. visited China for the first time in October 2005. The following journal entries from this trip document her experiences, perceptions, and feelings about this country.

        • Ghana Program KAS now has a pilot program in place for adopting children from Ghana.
          • Ghana Costs KAS is committed to keeping adoption fees as low as possible, and you will find our fees among the lowest in the nation. Outline and explanation of cost for Ghana adoptions.
          • Ghana Process The wait time for a referral from Ghana varies based upon the age and gender of child a family is requesting. It is anticipated that referrals for siblings, children over 5 years of age and/or special needs children will be made in a shorter time frame.
          • Ghana Requirements Husband and wife must be at least 25 years old and 21 years older than the child they are seeking to adopt. Single female applications accepted on a case-by-case basis.
        • Guatemala Program Finding adoptive families for special needs children and many healthy infants. Average time for a Guatemalan adoption through KAS is approximately 5 - 8 months from the time all paperwork is received.
          • Lucy's Commitment Chronicles the birth of Lucy's love for the adoption of older children. Describes one of her very first trips to Guatemala, and documents her initial feelings about her life's mission in adoption.
        • Haiti Program Infants and older children, including those with special needs and sibling groups are available for referral from Haiti
        • Korea Adoption Alliance Program KAS partners with a very experienced and long-established child-placing entity functioning in South Korea. We work closely with KY families providing home study services and additional regular correspondence as they adopt from Korea.
          • Korea Fees Although we expect adoption fees incurred in Korea to remain the same, we do not accept any responsibility for international fees or fees charged by our partner agency and only show a range of the fees we anticipate you will incur.
        • Ukraine Program
        • Humanitarian Aid We provide humanitarian assistance to several orphanages in Guatemala, through monetary donations, as well as supplies. We regularly take supplies, ranging from diaper rash cream to vitamins to art tools, among many other items to these orphanages.
        • International Network International Network Program: Applicants employ the home study services of Kentucky Adoption Services, Inc. while utilizing the placing services of another agency.
